EtsyInspired Challenge

Hi Stampers! Today is a big day for the Etsy DT over on PaperCraft Planet. They have been having a grand old time chatting the day away with challenges and give-aways. You can still play along. Just check the link for the challenges (they were issued hourly). You have only 1 hour to do each one, BUT you can submit them until Tuesday March 3 at midnight PST to win a prize. Each challenge and prize is different so be sure to check them all out.
.
Here is the only one I have done so far. Heather was the absentee hostess and her daughter drew a sketch for the challenge. This challenge is posted on Ashley's blog along with her own challenge. Here is the sketch:

And here's my card. Since she drew it in colors, I went with those colors as well. It's hard to tell but the light green layer is raised. I used clear embossing on the balloons, the rest is just paper and ink!
Hope you are having a good weekend! I can't complain since I am getting a little time to stamp. ;)

Thanks for stopping in, Tasha

And Shonda guessed right, too! I spent the week arranging flower for Valentine's Day. Guess what? I don't get flowers for that holiday. :)

Today's Challenge

Hi stampers! I realize my posts have been sporadic but I hope to get back on track soon. Working 43 hours last week in a cold room standing all day wore me out more than I thought! We also had a death in the family and that has taken some of my time as well. I hope that you are having a terrific week to make up for mine!!
.
I did manage to get to scs this morning and make a card for both the color and sketch challenges of the week.
Card recipe: all items from Stampin' Up!
stamps: Balmy Breezes (retired)
cs: very vanilla, old olive, rose red, more mustard designer series paper
ink: old olive, rose red, more mustard
accessories: gold brads
technique: I distressed the edges of the palm tree, the rose red, and the green mat pieces with the SU distressing tool. I also sponged more mustard and rose red on the edges of the palm tree piece. I sponged rose red on the edges of the circular pieces which I cut with the coluzzle.
.
I hope you like the card. I would truly love to be somewhere with palm trees right now!

March Cards of the Month Club

Hi stampers! I'm excited to let you know that I have released the March COTM, remember when viewing the pictures that I still don't have any photo editing put back on my computer. ;) And today it did something weird on the website and made them all square and distorted. So I hope you at least get an idea of what's included. You can visit the club page by clicking here. Below is a shot of all five cards for March. With embossing, glitter, clips, brads, and ribbon, they are all fun to make!

I hope that you have had a good weekend. Thanks for stopping by!

Till next time,

Blog Candy and the Last Peek!

Happy Valentine's Day stampers! I am ready to "spill the beans" about why I've been so busy this week--at least some of the beans. And it doesn't involve stamping or card-making or food!! So in order to win the blog candy you need to leave a comment this week guessing what it is that I did all week! aka "Where In The World Is Tasha Hickert?" picture hint is below
Now on to the peek. This is the third card for March's Cards of the Month Club. I have to get to work so check previous post for COTM details if you are new to my blog. :)
So a recap on the blog candy "rules". You can leave a comment guessing where I am/what I have been doing this week for one entry. You can leave a comment each day for another entry. Contest ends at 9pm CST on Saturday, Feb. 21. I will post the candy prize pic soon.
Have a great day--hope you can share it with someone you love!

A Sneak Peek...finally!

Hi Stampers! I know yesterday was supposed to start the sneak peek, but life got in the way... As you can see from the last post I have been having computer woes. So please excuse the yellow, unedited photos until I can get photoshop back up. Here is the first card I am showing for my March Cards of the Month Club.
The featured stamp set for the March club is Pinch Proof so all cards will use that set. You can see how the club works by clicking here: Cards of the Month Club. The release will be on February 15 at which time you can sign up.
Hope you are having a good week! Check back for blog candy coming up.
Till next time, Tasha

Computer Craziness

Hi Stampers! I truly hope to get yesterday's card on later tonight. I had to do a complete restore on my computer. That means wipe everything out so it's like the day I bought it. Eeekk! I use an online backup service for data BUT I still have to load up all my software again--like my camera before it's business as usual.

So, if you have a minute, pop over to some of the gals I like to check on which are listed in the left column. And they all have more great blogs listed as well. I'll do my best to be up and running by morning! I feel like I am missing out terribly...

Thanks for stopping in! Tasha

Two Card Tuesday

Hi stampers! This morning I looked at the color challenge over on scs and was disappointed that I didn't find anything. BUT, later there were two for today! The first was to use the colors tempting turquoise, pink passion, gable green, and lovely lilac. I really like all these colors but not necessarily together!! Here is what I came up with:
stamps: SU! all holidays, SU! sketch an event (retired)
paper: all SU! whisper white and challenge colors
ink: all SU! pink passion, lovely lilac, tempting turquoise
accessories/tools: SU! heart to heart punch

For the second challenge I needed to use creamy caramel, cameo coral, and old olive. I had an easier time with this combo.

Stamps: SU! fun and fast notes, bunch o' bugs (retired)

paper: SU! cameo coral, whisper white, old olive dsp

ink: creamy caramel, cameo coral, old olive

accessories/tools: dazzling diamonds glitter applied with glue pen, Big Shot with top note die, gold brads

I just used the colored markers to ink the stamps. Also, the sentiment has a picture with it that I just omitted coloring. This card will be going out tomorrow for our pastor who is having surgery later this week.

Thanks for stopping in today! I hope you picked up a little inspiration.

Till next time, Tasha

Starting To See The Connection

Hi there! Once again I had busy weekend that didn't involve much stamping. Not only that, it involved baking once again. I am starting to see a connection between what I am doing and my waistline!!! My oldest was invited to a Super Bowl party on Sunday so I made this cake for him to take. Keep in mind, I am NOT showing off how "good" a decorating job I did because I didn't. But it was fun to do and fairly quick.

Another view showing some of the Steeler fans. ;)

Then I had to switch sports and get these ready for my other ds to take to school for birthday treats. I had not used this cookie cutter before and it was a little tricky to get used to. With 25 in the class that makes quite a team!

A little closer view. It's funny how the thickness of the dough determines how "fat" they get when they bake.

Don't worry, I'll be back to cards tomorrow. (My waistline depends on it!)

Thanks for stopping by! Till next time, Tasha
