Blog Change Again

Hi there! I am moving back to Blogger. In the process I will be attempting to move over 200 posts!! We'll see how that pans out.

But the plan is to be functional here once again by Jan 3/4. Wish me luck. :)

Last Minute Family Gift

Are you running out of time? Did you get all your goodies and homemade treats done and presented to your friends and neighbors?

If not, here's an idea that you can make without messing up your kitchen!

Christmas gift idea

The base is a giant-size Hershey bar. The recipient will smile after reading the poem under the flap.

Homemade fudge poem

This idea was shared with me several years ago and I saved the poem* (ate the chocolate, of course). So I hope you can put it to good use as well.

Last-Minute teacher Gift Idea

Need a little something to pack up your homemade treats? Stampin' Up!s CandyCountdown Calendar Kit comes to the rescue.

You know...the one you bought with good intentions of making a darling Christmas countdown...

so grab it and get you're ready to go!

Teacher gift

The image panel is die cut--just punch out and glue on. Sentiment is from Tags Til Christmas stamp set. Love that set because it coordinates with so many punches making tags quick and easy.

The real red grosgrain ribbon is included for the handles. I added satin ribbon, die cut snowflake, and a button from the Candy Cane Big Buttons collections to embellish the top of the boxes.

Teacher Christmas goodies

I apologize for the long absence, but just haven't had enough hours in the day for about a month. And I'm trying to learn to function with Windows 7, a new computer, etc.

As the kids put it "we had an electronic revolution" at our house. :)

Have a great day and thanks for stopping by!

Thanksgiving Hostess or Guest Gift

Thanksgiving Gift Box

Just in time for your Thanksgiving guests or to present to a hostess if you are lucky enough to be a guest!  This Blessing Mix is a nice gesture and can be wrapped up so many ways.

Today's little package is wrapped in fall colors designer series paper (pattern retired) and a crimped strip of Baja Breeze cardstock.  The pheasant adds just the right amount of color and empahsis.  The turkey is part of Stampin' Up!s Autumn Breeze stamp set.

Blessing Mix Wording You can click on the picture for a larger view if the words are hard to read.  This Blessing Mix idea came to me from fellow Stampin' Up! demonstrator Angie Juda.

December Cards of the Month Club

Have you been wondering about this?  Well, since I did not take a picture early, I have no photo of the cards this month.  But trust me, they're fabulous!  :)

Surprise
I can show one of them that I photographed by itself.  Sort of a sneak peek, I guess.

Gift Box CardThis card was designed by  fellow Stampin' Up! demonstrator Becky Roberts.  I made some for the craft fair and thought you would love them, too.

Turkey Punch Art

Apparently I did get a picture of  Tom Turkey before the camera fell off the table.  Isn't he a fun little guy?

Tom Turkey punch art
The punches I used: scalloped circle, 1-1/4" circle, 3/4" square (discontined), modern label, and 3-flower (discontinued).

The scallop circles are cut in half for the tail so it only takes 4 of them for the turkey.  Beak is just a triangle, and I doodle the eyes with a basic black Stamp'n Write marker.

Tom is stuck together with Tombow multi-purpose liquid adhesive (my favorite) and adhered to a top note die cut.  But he would look good on the front of a Thanksgiving card as well.

I need to clarify that I did not design this guy

I wonder what would happen if...

my camera broke and I didn't have any pictures of Cards of the Month?  And I didn't have time to take it in to be looked at right away?

Yep, that's what's going on here.

I have determined that digital cameras are not nearly as tough as the old film-style point and shoots.

I have a couple projects left to share and then I won't have new ones until either my camera is fixed or I get a new one.

It's a strange feeling.

Tomorrow I will have a picture (borrowed from a fellow demonstrator) of the turkey toppers punch art so that you have time to make some before Thanksgiving!  All you need is the scallop circle punch, 1-1/4" circle punch, and a small flower punch, plus scissors, a black marker, and some scraps of fall (turkey) colored cardstock.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

Purse Gift Bag

As I am getting ready for a craft show this Saturday, I am trying to use up old designer series paper.  Here is a gift set that can be made for any occasion just by changing the colors or paper and cardstock.

Gift Purse Idea
Don't you love the faux stitching?  I did make a pattern when I came up with this so I will try to get that shared at some point.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

More Gift Bags

As promised, here are a couple more gift boxes.  All made the same, just different paper and decorations.

Seasonal Gift Boxes

You can see a tutorial on these boxes here.

The two Christmas ones are part of my using up old designer series paper.  But the embellishments are all available.  Both the ornament and "dec. 25" stamp are from the set Tags til Christmas.

In fact, the Tags til Christmas stamp set can be bundled with either the decorative label punch (right) or the ornament punch for a 20% savings.

Rhinestones and glitter and the finishing touch.  With 150 rhinestones for $4.95, you can make a lot of boxes for a little $!

Thanksgiving Gift Box

Fancy chocolates come in packages like these, so why not your special treat?

Thanksgiving Gift Box

This box is simple to make and uses an 8-1/2" x 11" sheet of cardstock.  I am getting ready for a craft fair on the 13th so will make several of these.  They are easy to change for each season/holiday.

For today's I used Peach Parfait cardstock and the Autumn Days stamp set.  Yep, I'm still enamored with making acorns using the ornament punch!

I'll share some more tomorrow.  Pretty sure I posted instructions to this box style a year or two ago.  If I can't find it, I'll share measurements and directions on Monday.

Have a great weekend!
