Happy Birthday, Cupcake!

Wow, it's been one of those days and so the card idea for you today is late. With the back-to-school meets end-of-summer rush upon me, I encourage you to follow my blog through one of the options in the left sidebar. That way you can be notified when the post is up each day and not have to stop by to check.
This is a card for yet another friend's August birthday. I have seen a few people use this cupcake stamp in ways beyond the intended thank you and thought I would give it a whirl.
.
Want to see the inside? I typically keep the inside of my cards rather simple and haven't decided if I will stamp a greeting one this one or just write my own message. Just so happens that the Party Hearty stamp set has a smaller cupcake that works perfectly. See why I keep using that set?
Here are the Stampin' Up! supplies I used to put this all together:
stamps: Simple Birthday Thanks, Teeny Tiny Wishes, Party Hearty (small cupcake), retired Canvas background
cardstock: melon mambo, craft, pretty in pink, whisper white, tea party designer series paper
ink: craft white, versamark, blush blossom and melon mambo for shading and message, close to cocoa for cherry stem
.
To jazz it up I covered the cherry in Crystal Effects and used some stick-on pearls (origin not known). The greeting is punched with the new, and very cool, Modern Label punch then mounted on a die cut label from the matchbox die.

Thanks so much for stopping in!

My Favorite Colors

Today you can see one of the cards we are making at Cards of the Month Club today. Though mainly blue, this birthday card is perfect for sending to a woman or man.

The combination of old olive, bashful blue, and cameo coral is one of my all-time favorites! A touch of apricot appeal ribbon keeps it from being too matchy-matchy.

  • stamp set used is Party Hearty #111532
  • pattern paper is bashful blue designer series patterns #112151, there are 12 double-sided sheets with 12 total patterns for only $9.95!
  • the 1/2" circle punch #104390 creates the circle centers which are mounted on die cut flowers from the Birds and Blooms sizzlet pack
  • the scallop circle punch #109043 is what I used for the cameo coral circle peeking out from behind the white curve (which I believe was traced from a flower pot while we were on vacation)

You can still take part in this month's selection by mail if you sign up by Aug. 8.

Have a great day!

Tasha

PS I'll be back later with an exciting anouncement!

Limited Supplies Diva

Hi Stampers! I am all mixed up thinking today is Saturday. The kids are out of school due to parent/teacher conferences. Today will be fun because it is my Cards of the Month Club so I have to stamp! Here is a card I made this morning for the limited supplies challenge on scs and also I am trying out the Diva Coffeebreak Challenge today.
There are lots of great cards to look at already and you are invited to play along as well. Just click on the link above. Here's my card:
With the limited supplies we had to make our own dsp and only use 1 set including the sentiment.
Supplies used are all Stampin' Up! except as noted:
stamps: Party Hearty!
cs: whisper white, tempting turquoise, green galore, going gray
ink: green galore, tempting turquoise, gray (crayola!!)
.
Well, I have to run so I can finish cutting cs for club.
.
Thanks for stopping by today! Till next time, Tasha

Happy Football Day!

Thursdays are football day at our house. We used to prepare the night before, but now that Wednesday activities have resumed at church, Thursday mornings can be quite a rush. This morning we couldn't find the white jersey--thank goodness my DS is old enough to remember what color to wear since I can't! For those not in sports they wear white when they are away and team color when they are at home except today they are playing in town but at a different school so it still counts as away.
.
I fielded the first call yesterday about my school fundraiser workshop. Yea! At least I know someone read the flyer! And now that those are out, I have a little more time to focus on other things so I made a card for last Saturday's sketch from Lauren M. If you want to play along the keyword is mytimess08 if you post it anywhere.

Colors for this card are certainly celery, tempting turqoise, blush blossom, and cameo coral. I used the stamp set Live Like You Mean It (borrowed from the neighbor) because I thought it was perfect for this challenge.
.
Oh, you have to check Heather's (the neighbor) blog today! She posted some cool punch projects. We just love that tab punch. Plus she has some blog candy if you're the right number.
.
And I promised to show a few of the birthday cards from my Everyday Card Kit that is being offered at the Christmas card workshops. I used the rainbow sherbet dsp so the palette is tempting turquoise, green galore, apricot appeal, and certainly celery.
These first two use the Party Hearty set which I think is going to be one of my favorites!

And this last card uses Bugs and Kisses and Garden Whimsy.
All of the cards are quite simple to make since the participants will be making 20 cards total and some may have no previous experience.
.
Well I hope you have a great day! Thanks for stopping.
Till next time, Tasha
