Thank You Card Idea

One of the things I love about my job is being able to help people with ease.

The children's choir at church needed cards to thank the director and accompanist for all their hard work this year. Since their big year-end, Mother's Day program was about trees, the parents-in-charge thought a tree card would be appropriate.(I apologize for the weird angle that makes the panel look so crooked!)

Now... they could have spent an hour or more searching for such a card but instead--one text to me and they were done. For me, a trip to my stamp room and about 20 minutes later the cards were ready.

This one features the stamp set Lovely as a Tree stamped in Soft Suede on designer series paper from Stampin' Up!s spring mini-catalog. Gold Glow Smooch Spritz adds a rich touch when it is spritzed across the image and dabbed on the tree.

'Tis the season for thank you's and teacher appreciations. I'll be sharing more in the next couple weeks.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day! Tasha

Natural Thank You Card

Thank You Card with bird stampThis little note I copied from a sample in Stampin' Up!s Occasions mini-catalog. The specialty designer series paper is so fun! If you love the vintage look, but can't bring yourself to tear up any old books this paper is the perfect answer.

The First Edition specialty designer series paper is lightweight to remind you of vintage encyclopedias but it is still double-sided.

Recognize the bird? It is from the Nature Walk stamp set that I showed a couple days ago. And to tie it all up little hemp twine accented with a tiny paper daisy sporting an old olive mini brad center.

The 3x3 note card size is sweet for so many occasions. This size is one of my favorites to work with.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

January Thank You Card

These little cards are going out to customers who placed an order in January.

Thank You Cards using Thanks for Caring stamp set
That butterfly image and "Thanks" are from the sympathy set called Thanks for Caring in Stampin' Up!s occasions mini catalog. I got the layout idea from fellow SU demonstrator Angie Juda.

I love how the sketchy lines of the butterfly coordinate so well with the loose lines of the Summer Garden designer series paper.

For a quick touch of color, I used sponge daubers in Pear Pizzaz and Poppy Parade and daubed over the butterfly.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

Bird Thanks

Funny how we're all naive (nicer word than oblivious) to situations until living through one. I think about my friends who have had surgery or their immediately family members have had surgery. And maybe I said a prayer or sent a card. Sometimes, if it was a kid, I would take an activity book or a movie coupon. Maybe if it was the parent I would take a meal. But now I will definitely do those things--all those things. And I will include a set of thank you cards as well.

After my son's surgery, I was amazed by what some of my friends thought of. And I noticed it was the ones who had been through family surgeries as well. Yes, they are super busy too but they knew what the ordeal would entail and brought stuff anyway even though I waived them off saying everything was under control! Now I certainly don't mean anything against those who simply said a prayer. That is wonderful and needed every bit as much. And, quite honestly, if many more had responded I would have been overwhelmed and not been able to handle the chaos.

This is a card I made for one of the families.

stamp: Fun and Fast Notes

paper: gable green, rainbow sherbet dsp, whisper white, apricot appeal

ink: staz on black, SU markers-apricot appeal, cameo coral, barely banana, summer sun, gable green, bordering blue

tools/accessories: Big Shot, nestabilities, embossing folder

Thanks for stopping by!

Till next time, Tasha

Sketch Challenge Today

Good Morning! I don't always get to post this early but have a jam-packed day. This is the card I put together for the sketch challenge over on scs. I haven't been drinking coffee lately so treated myself today. Apparently my body isn't used to it anymore. Can you see the big pink "coffee spaz" on the image? I'll have to re-do it before using this card, but wanted to post it anyway. Also, I think I will take off the rhinestone and go with another dot on the blue flower. Just a different look and I don't like them together now that I've seen it.

Colors: apricot appeal, bashful blue, certainly celery, whisper white
Dsp: rainbow sherbet
Accessories: blue rhinestone brad from ice collection, 3-flower punch, large oval and wide oval punches, needle and mat for paper piercing

Let me know what you think!

Have a great day and thanks for stopping by!

Show and Tell

I am finally posting some of my handywork. Still not caught up at home since dd was home today with the flu (I think). Fever up to 104 by bedtime--eek!
.
This first card is one I made for a friend's son who just got selected for the state honor band. The words are cranberry crisp and really don't look red like in the pic. And the cs is bravo burgundy. Dsp might be from Holiday Treasures? I have not ever had a music set but just happened to buy this old combo. set at a garage sale a couple weeks ago so luckily I now have 1 music note! Inside the cards says "...and jazz, and march! Congratulations on being selected for the honor band."
The second card is one of several I made for my birthday thank yous. The floral print is something I received as a gift, polka dots is from the paper pack hostess set, base is certainly celery.
Last item I will share is a party favor, tea bag holder. My neighbor/friend/upline and I received these at a swap last Christmas. We had them out at the craft fair and took an order for them in silver and red. Quite simple to make and you can get 3/piece of cs. The individually wrapped teabag adheres to the sticky strip inside.
Well, that's it for today. Thanks for stopping by!

Go, Go, Go and Wait, Wait, Wait

The story of our life right now is GO! Last week I helped in some way every day at the grade school. Seems as though I should get a paycheck now! It was also time for my "Popcorn Kernel" duties with the scouts. And the church carnival took place last night. So a lot have things have cleared off my schedule--whew!
.
On Thursday was the last football game. Both the A and B teams won which meant the A team finished the season undefeated--woohoo! The parents had a end-of-season chili meal after the game which was fun even when the lights got shut off! Bad news is ds (dear son) got hurt the second play of the game. Of course, he continued to play but we could tell he didn't look right. I took him in Friday to have the sore shoulder looked at and spent a couple hours on a roller coaster of emotion after being told the collar bone was fractured, maybe torn ligaments, etc. (of course I am thinking "oh crap, he's too young for surgery"). But the orthepedic/sports dr. said no fracture and we have to wait to see damage of tendons/ligaments. Luckily (?) the kids were out of school Friday so ds didn't have to miss anything. And lucky for me, my neighbor/friend/upline was home and took the younger two after the first dr. visit. What would we moms do without our support system of friends?
.
So we will continues to wait and pray that all turns out well. We go back next week to find out the course of action.
.
As you can guess I have LOTS of thank yous I need to get out, especially to all those that helped make the carnival successful. So check back tomorrow, I promise to have some posted.
.

My Alzheimers' Caregivers Card

I am finally posting the card I made for Cammie's (Carolyn King) Heart To Heart Challenge. Yes, for those that are bothered I did retrim the ribbon before sending--I just couldn't find my good scissors before taking the pic. (They are hidden so no one else will use them!)
.
Thanks for stopping and have a good day. Till next time, Tasha
