Happy Memorial Day
This weekend has been more kitchen than craft room but I managed to gel the two a little. The cupcake toppers were made quickly with My Digital studio, scalloped circle punch, and 1-1/4" circle punch. Glue dots hold the toppers onto toothpicks and, yes, they are double sided so they look good no matter which way they are facing.
Thanks for stopping by and have a great holiday!

Stampin' Up! Last Chance List Excitement
Every year, just before the release of the new Idea Book & Catalog (coming July 1), Stampin' Up! announces which stamp sets and accessories will be "retiring".
In order to make room for all the new stamps and accessories, some of the current catalog items have to go. The "Last Chance" lists of retiring products will be linked here on my blog June 1st.
The retiring stamps will be available to order (as you normally would) until June 30.
While that is all quite exciting, I am going to make it even more exciting with a contest!
Fine print: contest will close Sunday, May 29, at 9pm cst. However, be sure to enter as soon as you're able because if THE LIST is announced (or leaked) early the contest will close at that time. Current Stampin' Up! demonstrators are not eligible to win the prize. Although if you just want the "bragging rights" you may play along. Should a demonstrator win a second place non-demo winner will be chosen for the gift certificate.

What you do: send me a list of 10 stamp sets you think will be on the Last Chance List by Sunday night at 9pm cst. Be sure to include your first and last name in the entry so I can announce you as a winner!
How you win: the person who gets the most stamp set right is the winner! In case of a tie, I will have a random drawing.
What you win: a $10 gift certificate for any Stampin' Up! order placed with me in June.

Have a Great Summer Teacher Gift Idea
This is what the teachers received from my kids yesterday.
I think they deserve to celebrate that the year is over! :)
The flip flops are from last year's COTM pattern. Unfortunately the polka-dot ribbon is no longer available. But you can still get the cute flower brads from Stampin' Up!
Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

Teacher* Gift Idea Features Big Shot
Looking at it just makes me smile--not sure why?!
Using the Square Lattice embossing folder with the Big Shot makes the cardstock look like those woven straw purses you can buy for summer. An easy way to take the project up a notch.
The idea came from Stampin' Up!s online demonstrator community. I made my pattern from scratch but if you have the die Baskets and Blooms that would be even faster!
This bag is 5-1/2" x 4-1/2" x 1-1/2". A simple 3" x 1-12" box base is what I used to attached the front and back bag panels. The flower is 3 paper daisies (119243, 40/$6.95) layered. I dyed each with reinkers so they match perfectly!
Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

*these actually went to our bus drivers and classroom aides, I'll show the teacher gifts tomorrow

Patriotic Pizza Box
This little box held the gift my son took to a birthday party last weekend. He folded money into a "ninja star" and then wanted something to put it in.
Variations of red, white, and blue work great for male projects. The colors here are marina mist, riding hood red, crumb cake and not quite navy.
Don't you just love that baker's twine? It's a perfect accent without looking too girly. The baker's twine is available in Stampin' Up!s summer mini catalog.

I honestly have no idea how he folded the star, but if you need origami tips, there is a great site called the Origami Resource Center with free diagrams.
Thanks for stopping by and have a great week!

Father's Day Card Idea
Sharing a sneak peek with you today! This is one of the cards we will be making next Friday at Cards of the Month Club. I still have openings at 10am and 7pm if you are close enough to Hutchinson to join us.
This card is what many refer to as "hybrid". The image is actually from My Digital Designer, the Old World stamp brush set (in the summer mini catalog). I layered the ship over the log book, saved it to .jpg file, then imported into a word document so I could print* 4 on a sheet of cardstock. Easy peasy!
*Tip: when printing on Stampin' Up! whisper white, be sure to allow time for the ink to dry. Because the cardstock is very smooth to prevent image blur, it takes longer for the ink jet printing to dry.
Colors for this card are Sahara Sand, Not Quite Navy, Cherry Cobbler, Soft Suede, and Whisper White.
That cord is the baker's twine from the mini catalog as well--love it!! Great for man-cards since ribbon is harder to pull off in a manly fashion.
Hope you like today's card idea!

Thank You Card Idea
One of the things I love about my job is being able to help people with ease.
The children's choir at church needed cards to thank the director and accompanist for all their hard work this year. Since their big year-end, Mother's Day program was about trees, the parents-in-charge thought a tree card would be appropriate.(I apologize for the weird angle that makes the panel look so crooked!)

This one features the stamp set Lovely as a Tree stamped in Soft Suede on designer series paper from Stampin' Up!s spring mini-catalog. Gold Glow Smooch Spritz adds a rich touch when it is spritzed across the image and dabbed on the tree.
'Tis the season for thank you's and teacher appreciations. I'll be sharing more in the next couple weeks.
Thanks for stopping by and have a great day! Tasha

Birthday Candle Card
Need to send a cheery birthday greeting? You can make this card quickly and with little fuss.
Polka-dots are an understated fun backdrop for the candles. A quick trip through the Big Shot with a Texturz Plate is all that's needed to start.
The candles are simply pieces of cardstock 5/8"x 2-1/4" in Melon Mambo, Pumkpin Pie and Wild Wasabi. Cranking them through the crimper adds texture and a "striped" look with ease.
Love the flame? It's a bird wing fro the Extra-Large Two-Step Bird Punch--cool, huh? The bright yellow is Daffodil Delight.
In case you don't know, the sentiment is from Party Hearty stamp set which I have shown a lot but not recently. Party Hearty is great for anything birthday. And that stamp fits perfectly with the large tag punch.
