Layers Create Interesting Male Birthday Card

Are you ever stumped making a card for a man?  It can be hard to switch gears if you're used to ribbons, bows, and sparkle!
For "man cards" you need to think texture.  Ribbons are good if you choose twill or the 1/2" Stitched Poly like in the picture.  Other good choices are hemp twine and Stampin' Up!s new denim ribbon.

Stampin' dimensionals are also good.  The party hat sticks up on dimensionals making it a 3-d focal point.
Like the newsprint strip?  Don't be afraid to alter your supplies!  I simply inked the brayer with Island Indigo and rolled over the First Edition specialty designer series paper.

Hope this gets you started thinking of ways to make some masculine cards.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

Simple Precious Butterflies Card

Today's card idea is a quick and simple card using the stamp set Precious Butterflies.  You can get this stamp set free for hosting a Stampin' Up! workshop.
This is one of the cards made in the August Cards of the Month Club.  The next session of Cards of the Month will be August 25 and you can sign up here.

Colors for this card are Perfectly Pear, Wisteria Wonder, and Pretty in Pink.  Rounding the corners adds a sophisticated touch and is done easily with a 3/16" corner rounder--be sure to check out the tip about this punch that was in my August newsletter.

The butterflies are cut and embossed quickly with the Beautiful Wings embosslit and the Big Shot.  A self-adhesive rhinestone jewel adds sparkle.

Want the Precious Butterflies stamp set?  Contact me about setting your workshop date!  Or you can just place a product order of $150 through my website and select the set (along with more) for your Stampin' Rewards.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!  Tasha

Paisley Petals Grace's a Gift Box

This week I was asked to create a box for my client to present a collection of her cards to a friend.  She thought a gold box would be nice so I started with Stampin' Up!s brushed gold cardstock (102935).

The best thing about working with this gold is that is it the same color and texture on both sides.  I will never forget when I was out one time and bought some at a "big box office supply store".  In the wrapper it looked very similar, but when I got home and opened it I realized the shimmer was only on one side and the weight was not much heavier than paper!

Of course, that's the Paisley Petals designer series paper on top--love it!

And I love that this month you can get a pack for free!

The ribbon is just something I had and that sentiment is from the stamp set Precious Butterflies (which you can also get free just for hosting a workshop).

Thanks for stopping by!  Hope you are having a great weekend!
